North Wales is a firm favourite for great family holidays. With plenty to see and do for the more active to the more leisurely holiday. With fantastic days out, great beaches and fun galore!

North Wales is made up of six counties - Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy, Denighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham. There are plenty of things to see and do.

If you prefer a seaside holiday, then Llandudno, Rhyl (suncentre), Prestatyn, Colwyn Bay, Abergele Tywyn and Porthmadoc could be of interest. The Isle of Anglesey has rocky headlands, golden beaches and the Llyn Peninsular has miles of sandy beaches. If you would prefer a more active holiday then try Snowdonia National Park for walking or hiking. You will find that there are many golf courses in North Wales and horse riding, surfing and rock climbiing can be found in North Wales. If you would like to be more adventurous you can always go underground at Betws Y Coed.

North Wales has many castles to visit. These include: Beaumaris, Caenarfon, Conwy, Criccieth, and Harlech. Blaenau Ffestiniog is a slate mining town with a narrow gauge Ffestiniog Railway. Porthmadoc is the nearest town to the Italian village of Portmerion where the cult TV series 'The Prisoner' was filmed. Dolgellau and Llangollen hold annual music festivals and Conwy is a medieval fortified town with a castle and harbour.
