Family Holidays in Somerset

Visit Somerset with its resorts of Minehead, Burnham-on-Sea, Weston-super-Mare and Clevedon. They are busy seaside towns with golden sandy beaches, harbours and marinas.

Perhaps you would prefer a more active holiday such as walking on the Coleridge Way or the South West Coastal Path. Exmoor National Park is close by where there is horse riding available.

There are many golf courses to use or have a go at cycling in the Quantock or Mendip Hills. A more peaceful activity would be fishing for freshwater trout, salmon and carp.

There are many interesting places to visit - such as the Exmoor Owl and Hawk Centre near Porlock to see farm animals, pets and birds, or Glastonbury Tor with its association with King Arthur. At Bridgewater there is Coleridge Cottage where the poet once lived. Wookey Hole Caves are spectacular and the home of the witch of Wookey! The limestone cliffs and underground caves of Cheddar Gorge are well worth a visit. Why not see how authentic cheddar cheese is made or visit cider farms to see how cider (scrumpy) is produced.
